William Saintot Meunier de mes Grand-Peres

This is gorgeous! Textured, salty with that perfect lift of sweet oak on the finish. I really like the way this deals with the fruit as it hits the mid palate – very impressive and a real hit of spicy red fruits and toast. The next day the nose shows such an intense oaky sweetness and loads of liquorice, pepper, vanilla, stewed blackcurrants on the palate, with really good grip and fruit, salinity on the finish.

Based in the village of Avenay-Val-d’Or in the very East of the Marne Valley, this domain is currently run by 5th generation vigneron, Morgann Saintot. Committed to working in a sustainable way, the Maison is HVE certified and currently on route to organic certification. Working with 10ha of mostly Pinot Noir, Morgann vinifies his plots separately to highlight the typical characteristics of each terroir.
